Osaka - Part 1
Up Next

Most of the days were full with meetings and discussions. And little hard to converse with the Japanese because atashiva skosi vokarimas (I understand little). However, the few expressions I have picked up from the samurai movies were very useful. Especially the “Nan ikura des ka?” (How much is this?).

Some pictures for now. More later

One of the remarkable parts of a trip to Japan is the food.
Seafood waiting to be ordered.
Isaribi Grill in Osaka. Isaribi means fish trapping with light (Greek: gri-gri).
With Jim, the American rep of the Japanese company.
Sacred Deer at the Shinto Temple in Nara.
According to tradition, deer are the messengers of the Gods.
Naibutsu-Den, the largest wooden structure in the world.
It was completed  in 745 AD. In Nara, the first capital of Japan,
Nara, Naibutsu-Buddha, the largest one in the world.
The statue is 15 meters (50ft) tall, made in 752 AD.
ShinsaiBashi, the center of nightlife for young Osakans
EbishuBashi, the location of the movie Black Rain
A suicidal cat at the window of a store.
The electronic toilet at my hotel room.
The controller. You have to be careful with the settings!

Fugu, the Poisonous Japanese Blow-fish at a restaurant window.

The next night I was invited for Fugu. Asked my friends to send me their Social Sec. Number to include you in my life insurance. If I was not to agree with the Japanese on the terms of the contract, they might ask the chef to put a little piece of poisonous liver on my fugu sashimi.
