Lamp Restoration

Comments: I found the lamp at a flea market in November of 2002. It had so much dust on it that I could hardly see the details and bevels on the stained glass. Needless to say, I fell in love with it on the spot and bought it after some negotiation for the price. Immediately I started thinking about restoring it and making a suitable base for it. It took me almost one year to come up with the design for the base and another six months before I could allocate some time to make the base and restore the lamp. The actual making of the base was over the weekends of May and June of 2004. The stained glass produces the most amazing reflections of light and glitter on the wall.

I am looking for advice about how the lamp was created, who might be the artist or the studio that created, time it was made, etc. It seems to me that it is from the beginning of the century, before the Tiffany era. Have looked at all the books about lamps and antiques that I could get my hands on but have not been able to find anything similar. Any help and guidance will be appreciated. If you have any ideas, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Zafiris
